Lin Restaurant will hold a fundraiser to support Buffalo State students participating in the School of Education–sponsored service-learning trip to Yangon, Myanmar. All proceeds will go toward offsetting student travel, housing, and meal costs associated with students’ participation in this trip, which will take place June 29–July 18.
The chef at Lin, one of the most talented cooks to come to the United States from Asia, will prepare authentic Burmese and Thai dishes, such as spring rolls, coconut soup, samosas, biryani, noodle salad, and pad ka pao chicken (Thai). Descriptions of menu items are available on the Lin menu.
March 2016 ushered in Myanmar’s first democratically elected government after decades of military rule. By way of its service-learning course to Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), Buffalo State has been presented with a rewarding opportunity to offer vital assistance in the development of K–12 and higher education, civic life, the economy, and environmental practices. It is our hope to join other American and European universities that have already begun the work of advancing change in the country.
