As part of the Year of the Teacher, Buffalo State is proud to be a co-sponsor of World Without Borders: Embracing Cultural Differences, a free conference faciliated by the Ecumencial Community Outreach Committee, to be held on Friday, March 28 at 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York (257 West Genesee Street, Buffalo).
This conference will address cultural differences in the Buffalo Public Schools and community, by engaging educators, parents, and the community in an open dialogue meant to increase awareness of, understanding about, and sensitivity to cultural differences.
Keynote speaker Dr. Steve L. Robbins, a Vietnamese immigrant with extensive experience working in non-for-profit organizations across the country, will offer perspectives on education, leadership, inclusion, innovation, and cultural competency - as well as the dynamic power of caring. Lunch is provided.
