He has been lauded for running a student government with a direct business focus that meets student needs and efficiently operates campus activities. In addition, he has served on numerous college committees, contributing to positive solutions on issues ranging from parking and transportation to alumni activity.
In the community, Sauerzopf is an Eagle Scout and a longtime member of the Boy Scouts organization, providing more than 300 hours of service in the past year while mentoring younger scouts. As a member of Buffalo State’s award-winning chapter of Best Buddies, he established friendships with intellectually disabled children and adults, and as an organizer of Kids Night Out, he worked with local children as a representative of the college’s Intercollegiate Athletics Department.
In short, Sauerzopf recognizes opportunities to lead and is willing to devote his time and energy to improving the student experience at Buffalo State and the quality of life in his community.
