AFP's 7th annual Social Justice Festival presents sessions that provide tools and vocabulary for community building, conflict resolution, and identity exploration. Through kinesthetic workshops, performances and exhibits festival participants activate theory into practice. The 2015 theme is Identity, Inclusion, and the World.
"The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The world has many pressures and constraints that make it difficult to be accepted as the person, or group, in which we identify. We want to explore the power behind identity and inclusion, and its profound social, political, and cultural affect on our world.
The AFP Social Justice Festival is an event that celebrates and examines community, human rights, and identity across the disciplines. The vision of the AFP Social Justice Festival is to provide the world with the proper tools and vocabulary for community building, conflict resolution, and identity exploration. AFP invites scholars, artists, and community activists to facilitate hands-on workshops, exhibits, and performances that activate unification and peace processes, and eliminate the role of the bystander.
