The Nancy Chicola IPDS School Student Travel Support Fund provides scholarships for students who travel through participation in the International Professional Development Schools (IPDS) consortium or other overseas research or study abroad experiences while collaborating on a research project with a member of the Buffalo State faculty.
Funds can be used to cover costs of research and/or travel including transportation, lodging, language immersion, meals, research materials, presentations at conferences, program-related tours, and other approved costs. Scholarship funds can only be used to pay for costs directly related to the international initiative and conference presentations of completed research.
The eligible candidate must be collaborating with a member of the Buffalo State faculty on a research project that is directly related to the candidate’s experience in an IPDS or other international program focused on teacher education, teaching, schools and/or classrooms. The eligible candidate must be enrolled and in good standing at Buffalo State.
Applicants must submit the completed application form and supporting documentation by the deadlines listed below.
The dean or a designee of the School of Education will review applications and determine the number of students who receive an award and the amount each recipient will receive. The dean of the School of Education will approve all requested costs and facilitate the required paperwork and process for distributing the scholarship funds.
