IPDS-Siena Student Teaching is an International Professional Development Schools opportunity that includes student teaching experiences at two authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) schools that are partnering with Buffalo State – Makowski Early Childhood Center in Buffalo and the International School of Siena in Italy.
Siena (view map) is the capital of the province of Siena, Italy. Located in the heart of Tuscany, Siena is distinguished by its medieval brick buildings and is noted for its central piazza known as Il Campo. The climate is Mediterranean with mild winters (40-50F) and warm summers (75-80F).

Applications are accepted through the School of Education Office of the Dean during open application periods only. Applicants must submit a completed application form with an essay of intent, one academic reference, and a copy of past grades and current course registration. Handwritten applications are acceptable.
Open to all undergraduate and graduate teacher education candidates eligible to student teach during the corresponding spring semester
Open to students seeking certification in Early Childhood, Childhood, or Exceptional Education
Must be currently enrolled in a teacher education program at Buffalo State
Must maintain good academic standing
Must be able to obtain passport
