Prospective students will discover all that Buffalo State has to offer during the college's Spring Open House, Saturday, April 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Accepted students and visitors can tour campus, meet with faculty, learn about academic programs and student support services, and discuss financial aid opportunities.
“Open House allows students to get a feel for what life is like at Buffalo State and experience our dedication to community engagement, respect for diversity, and emphasis on internships and research,” said Tom Karanas, admissions adviser.
Open House attendees will check in at Rockwell Hall at 9:00 a.m., attend a welcome program in the Performing Art Center from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m., and then may meet with representatives from the Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts offices from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Moot Hall.
Starting at 11:00 a.m., student ambassadors will lead walking tours of campus every 15 minutes. Ongoing tours of the college’s athletics facilities, E. H. Butler library, and residence halls will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. At the same time, faculty will be available to speak with students and parents at presentations across campus.

Along with hosting Q&A and information sessions, many departments have created custom programming exclusively for the event.
Students who have not yet chosen a major can learn more about academic and career options during, “Your Best Choice,” an information session to be held 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the Campbell Student Union’s Assembly Hall (2nd Floor).
The Union will also be a hub of activity with an information fair on learning opportunities, student services, and student clubs and organizations. Those looking to experience a slice of campus life can visit the Burchfield Penney Art Center at Buffalo State (a docent-led tour will be held at 2:00 p.m.) or catch Women’s Softball against Oneonta (at noon in the Softball Field).
Students and family members wishing to attend the Spring Open House must pre-register online on site the day of the event from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. or by calling (716) 878-4017.
