Hosted by the SUNY Buffalo State College School of Education, 1st Amendment-1st Vote, Inc and the Erie County Office of Public Advocacy, the Reimagining Civics Education for a Better 21st Century is designed for area P-12 and Buffalo State students and area educators and policy-makers to discuss the importance and revival of teaching civics in P-12 schools. This summit was called to honor the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in the United States.

Closing Panel Presentation
Morning Presentations: Consecutive 25-minute sessions with 5-minute transfer time between. Participants may choose to remain for all presentations in one strand or alternate to multiple strands.
Afternoon Roundtables: Collection of 1-hour discussions will extend morning sessions to prepare for the final panel conversation where invited government and school officials will entertain questions inspired by presenters and developed during the roundtable discussions.
Proposals accepted for one or several of the thematic strands (listed below).
(1) Summarize the proposed presentation with a description of how you will address the thematic strand that you feel is most appropriate for your material.
(2) Explain how you feel this proposed presentation will contribute to the summit discussion of civics education in the 21st century.
