Hosted by the SUNY Buffalo State College School of Education, 1st Amendment-1st Vote, Inc and the Erie County Office of Public Advocacy, the Reimagining Civics Education for a Better 21st Century is designed for area P-12 and Buffalo State students and area educators and policy-makers to discuss the importance and revival of teaching civics in P-12 schools. This summit was called to honor the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in the United States.

Closing Panel Q&A
Morning Presentations: Consecutive 25-minute sessions with 5-minute transfer time between. Participants may choose to remain for all presentations in one strand or alternate to multiple strands.
Afternoon Roundtables: Collection of 1-hour discussions will extend morning sessions to prepare for the final panel conversation.
Closing Panel: The day will come full circle with a panel of local leaders - invited government and school officials - responding to the topics developed through the summit, and a call to action by and for all participants.
Proposals were accepted through December 1 for the following thematic strands.
